The Namangan region of Uzbekistan and China Everbright Environment, a Chinese company, have agreed to expedite the implementation of an investment project worth $150 million aimed at recycling solid household waste. This was reported by the "Namangan Haqiqati" publication.
This agreement was reached during a meeting between the Governor of Namangan region, Shavkatjon Abdurazzoqov, and the President of China Everbright Environment, Luan Zusheng, in Shenzhen as part of the governor's working visit to China. The parties plan to complete construction work in Chust district within 14-16 months and launch the facility in the first quarter of 2027.
The project envisions the introduction of modern "green" technologies, improving the environmental situation, and creating new jobs. During the visit, the Namangan delegation also plans to hold meetings with several leading Chinese companies to expand cooperation in investment, industry, and environmental sectors.
