Improper smartphone use can lead to neck injuries

Today, smartphones, tablets, and laptops have become an integral part of human life. However, experts are seriously warning that the misuse of these gadgets has a negative impact on health. In particular, excessive forward tilt of the head can cause significant harm to neck health.

Usually, when a person uses a phone, they don't hold it at eye level, but keep their head facing forward and down. In this case, excessive pressure is applied to the neck muscles and spine. The more the head bends, the greater the load on the cervical spine.

According to experts' calculations, if the head is bent by 15 degrees, a pressure equal to approximately 12 kilograms will be applied to the cervical spine. If the head is bent to 60 degrees, this pressure reaches almost 27 kilograms. This is a huge load on the spine.

Excessive pressure can change the shape of bones and tendons in the cervical spine, leading to disorganized muscle function. Over time, such conditions can lead to cervical hernias, constant pain, dizziness, and even nervous system problems.
