There has been an official change in the Ramadan calendar, the date of fasting has changed!

The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has called on all Muslims to observe the Ramadan crescent on Tuesday evening, February 17, 2026. This date falls on the 29th day of Sha'ban in the Hijri year 1447, and the goal is singular: to officially confirm the arrival of Ramadan.
The court statement states that anyone who sees the crescent with the naked eye or through binoculars should report it to the nearest court. It is also recommended to contact the court through the relevant centers for the official registration of testimony.
Important point: here "date changed" more precisely means - the exact start of Ramadan is announced based on the appearance of the crescent moon. That is, if the crescent moon is visible, it might be the day after the first day of fasting - February 18; if not visible, it might be postponed to the next day.
In short, now the "final decision" is in the sky: an official announcement will be made based on whether the crescent moon appears or not. And you follow the evening news - Ramadan will come anyway, only the exact date will be set.
