Uzgidromet issued an urgent warning. Due to the heavy precipitation expected on February 21, mudflows and floodwaters may occur in the foothill and mountainous areas of the republic. In some places, rainwater may accumulate, and cases of flooding cannot be ruled out.
Areas where there may be a risk of mudflows:
Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana and Andijan regions — in a number of districts and some cities.
In the Tashkent region: Ohangaron, Bostanliq, Parkent, Piskent, Urtachirchiq, Yuqorichirchiq districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Olmaliq — the risk is assessed as higher.
Residents of mountainous areas, vacationers and drivers are asked to take precautionary measures.
