The Legislative Chamber of the Supreme Majlis held its next “Government Hour”. The meeting discussed the work being done to combat corruption, digitalization, and the introduction of information systems in the Ministry of Health.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Health Olim Omonov provided the deputies with detailed information on DMED, a unified medical information system.
24 million citizens on an electronic card
The DMED information system has so far:
- enabled the creation of an electronic medical card for 24 million citizens,
- implemented the system in 2,475 out of 2,571 primary health care facilities,
- accelerated equipment and staff training for further expansion are ongoing.
“Electronic prescription” — the fight against collusion
The “Electronic prescription” module has been developed to limit collusion in the pharmaceutical industry. It:
- provides electronic prescription writing, taking into account the dosage and form of drugs,
- allows for the sale of drugs with labeling based on a prescription,
- all processes are automated, reducing the human factor,
- patients will be able to track their prescriptions via a mobile application.
Every patient is under control
The system provides the following for the population and doctors:
- Mobile applications have been developed,
- Each patient can track their prescription and the process of prescribing in real time.
Transparency and automation are a powerful step against corruption
As Olim Omonov emphasized, digitization is not only about efficiency, but also:
“A significant step in drastically reducing corruption factors in medicine, ensuring the proper use of resources, and
ensuring the legal protection of patients.”
What do you think: do you think that electronic prescriptions and mobile monitoring will increase trust between doctors and patients?
