Uzbek judokas won their first medals at the Islamic Solidarity Games
Uzbek judokas successfully started at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games taking place in Riyadh, securing four medals — one gold, one silver, and two bronze. In the 66 kg weight category, judoka Bekmurodov competed against Kazakhstan’s representative Yerzhan Erenkaypov in the final and clinched victory by scoring a waza-ari.

This was the athlete's first gold medal at the international level. In the 73 kg weight category, Ahadov faced Olympic champion and multiple international tournament winner, Azerbaijan’s representative Hidayat Heydarov, in the final.

The intense match lasted more than eight minutes and concluded with the opponent's victory by shido. In the women’s 48 kg weight category, Uzbekistan’s athlete defeated Kazakhstan’s representative Diana Burkeyeva by ippon, claiming the first medal for Uzbekistan in the ongoing games.

In the 57 kg weight category, another Uzbek athlete competed against Azerbaijan’s representative Fidan Alizade, finishing the match with a clean ippon and securing the bronze medal.
