Uzbek boxers achieve successful start in India
The final stage of the World Boxing Cup has commenced in India. Today, four boxers representing Uzbekistan participated in the quarterfinal bouts, marking a successful start to the competition.

Out of the four, three managed to advance to the semifinals. The first to step into the ring was Nigina Uktamova in the 54 kg weight category, who faced Indian opponent Preeti.

In this bout, the judges unanimously awarded victory to the home fighter — 0:5. As a result, Uktamova concluded her participation in the competition in the quarterfinals.

Uzbekistan’s representative Azizakhon Zokirova, however, advanced to the semifinals. In the 70 kg weight category, she confidently defeated Nigerian athlete Patricia Mbata.

The judges unanimously ruled in favor of Zokirova — 5:0. Adhamjon Mukhiddinov also progressed to the next stage of the competition.

In the 65 kg weight category, he faced South Korean boxer Jang Dongwan and secured a 5:0 victory. In the heavyweight category above 90 kg, Halimjon Mamasoliyev represented Uzbekistan’s pride.

He defeated Austrian athlete Ahmad Hagag with a score of 5:0, earning a place in the semifinals.
