Uzbekistan striker Igor Sergeyev joins Iran’s Persepolis

Uzbekistan national team striker Igor Sergeyev will continue his career in Iran — he has signed a contract with Tehran’s Persepolis. The club itself officially announced the transfer. Kursiv.uz reports. reports .
“Igor Sergeyev is with us. Welcome to Persepolis,” the team’s press service said.
The 32-year-old forward was one of the top scorers in the Uzbekistan Super League last season with Pakhtakor: he scored 20 goals in 29 matches and provided 3 assists.
According to Transfermarkt, Sergeyev was named the country’s best footballer in 2025, and his estimated transfer value is $1.2 million.
Previously, the striker played in Kazakhstan from 2021 to 2023 for Aktobe and Tobol. With the Kostanay-based side, he also won the league’s gold medals.
Persepolis are currently second in the Iranian league with 28 points.
