Yesterday, Kazan’s Rubin announced it had parted ways with midfielder Umarali Rahmonaliyev, who was under the club’s ownership. As a result, the intrigue over the 22-year-old’s future didn’t last long.
According to Transfermarkt, Azerbaijan’s Sabah paid Rubin $400,000 for Rahmonaliyev. The player himself signed a three-year deal. This suggests Sabah’s management is seriously counting on him in their future plans.
As a reminder, this season Umarali has already featured in 17 matches for Sabah. He has 1 goal and 1 assist to his name. It’s clear he’s been useful to the team as a midfielder — and it wouldn’t be surprising if more consistency and better numbers are expected from him next.
