Napoli comeback: late rescue from defeat

In Matchday 19 of Italy’s Serie A, Napoli drew 2–2 at home with Verona. The Neapolitans erased a two-goal deficit in the second half to avoid defeat.
Early on, Napoli enjoyed more possession, but Verona opted for a pragmatic approach and made the most of their chances. By the 27th minute the visitors were 2–0 up: Frese opened the scoring, and soon after Orban calmly converted a penalty. In the first half Napoli struggled to break down a deep defensive block and frequently missed in the final touch.
After the break, Antonio Conte’s side sharply increased the tempo and pressure. McTominay pulled one back after a corner. Napoli then stepped up attacks down the flanks and increased the number of shots on goal. The key moment came in the 86th minute: Di Lorenzo finished a right-wing delivery to make it 2–2. A late push did not produce a winning goal.
