Guardiola concerned about physical condition of players

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola spoke about the situation in his team ahead of the FA Cup semi-final match against Southampton. The specialist noted that after the difficult match against Arsenal, the players are exhausted both physically and mentally. The tight schedule, with matches being played every three days, is limiting the capabilities of the team members. Goal.com reports on this.
The coach also did not hide his concerns regarding the condition of the pitch at London's Wembley Stadium. According to him, the thick grass at the stadium creates additional difficulties for tired players and increases the risk of serious injuries. Guardiola emphasized that at this stage, any injury could mean a premature end to the season for a player.

"The match against Arsenal required a lot of emotional energy. We took to the field again three days later. Our guys are very tired," the coach explained. He also admitted that there is dissatisfaction among substitute players because he has reduced rotation in the squad over the last five or six matches, but he explained this by the need for defensive stability.
Currently, the team's key mainstay, Rodri, is out due to injury. Guardiola faces a difficult choice in the semi-final between relying on exhausted regular starters or fielding players with less match practice. The result of this encounter will determine Manchester City's pursuit of several trophies this season.
