Salah's departure from Liverpool at the end of the season officially confirmed

Former Liverpool defender Markus Babbel has sharply criticized the performance of Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah this season. In his opinion, the player's departure from the team in the summer is the right decision for both parties. Babbel noted that the forward's work rate has declined and his relationship with new manager Arne Slot is not ideal. Goal.com reports on this matter.
Although Salah has recorded 12 goals and 9 assists this season, his overall efficiency is significantly lower than last year's 57 goal involvements. The former defender noted that Salah's actions on the pitch do not fit the team's play and that he has moved far away from his previous level.

According to Babbel, the decline in the Egyptian star's game should have resulted in him being dropped from the starting lineup sooner. The German specialist suggests that the player feeling unhappy under Arne Slot could be the main reason for his inconsistent performances. "We can all play badly, but he doesn't want to work for the team," Babbel added.
Nevertheless, Markus Babbel acknowledged Salah's place in Liverpool's history, calling him a club legend and one of the best players to have played in England. Currently, there are various speculations regarding the 33-year-old forward's future. Saudi Arabian clubs are seen as his next destination, as many European teams may not be able to meet his high salary demands.

Salah has five matches remaining for the Merseyside club. He aims to end his career in England on a high note. The forward recently scored in the derby against Everton, showing that he is trying to regain his form. With the opening of the summer transfer window, he is expected to move to the Saudi Arabian or Italian championships.
