Lampard officially denies rumors of return to Chelsea

Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has responded to speculation regarding a potential return to the vacant managerial position at Chelsea. The London club legend emphasized that he is focused on his current success after leading the Sky Blues to the Championship title and promotion to the Premier League. Reports of a third stint at Stamford Bridge for Lampard emerged following the dismissal of Liam Rosenior. Goal.com reports on the matter.
Lampard has achieved remarkable results at Coventry City since his appointment in November 2024. He secured 44 victories out of 80 matches, returning the team to the top flight. During a press conference ahead of the match against Wrexham, the manager firmly denied the rumors linking him to Chelsea. His current contract runs until June 2027, and he is currently preparing for the championship celebrations.

Speaking about the situation at his former club, the 47-year-old specialist declined to discuss the departure of his colleague Rosenior. While acknowledging that Chelsea is a significant part of his life, Lampard stated he is currently occupied solely with his own work. "I am the Coventry manager; we are champions, and I am enjoying these moments. Chelsea is going through a difficult period, but that is their business," he added.
This Sunday, Coventry City will host Wrexham at home, where the team will be presented with the Championship trophy following the match. Discussing his future plans, Lampard urged fans not to be distracted by rumors and to take pride in the results achieved. Meanwhile, Chelsea will continue under interim manager Calum McFarlane until the end of the season.
