Nick Bostrom: The risks posed by AI may be justified for the future of humanity

Renowned Swedish philosopher Nick Bostrom has shifted his perspective on the risks associated with the development of artificial intelligence (AI). He believes that while there is a risk of human extinction, AI could offer unprecedented opportunities, such as extending human life and eliminating poverty. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .

In his new book, "Deep Utopia," Bostrom emphasizes that humanity faces inevitable death in the long term. According to him, AI technologies may be the only opportunity to fundamentally improve human life and overcome biological limitations.

The philosopher calls AI a tool that could liberate humanity from "partial slavery." He envisions a future where AI takes over all hard labor, allowing humanity to enter a "great retirement" and dedicate itself to creativity, spirituality, and personal relationships.

Bostrom also does not rule out the possibility that future AI systems could develop their own consciousness. In such a scenario, humanity would need to respect the interests of AI just as it does for living beings and grant them moral status.
