Starlink satellite internet user base exceeds 12 million

The Starlink satellite system, founded by Elon Musk's SpaceX, currently provides high-speed internet to over 12 million active subscribers in more than 160 countries worldwide. The company managed to attract one million new users in just 53 days. This is reported by Ixbt.com .

Currently, there are 10,300 satellites in orbit, and the company plans to reach 25 million users by the end of the year. Next-generation satellites are expected to increase bandwidth by 100 times, offering gigabit-speed internet.

According to Ookla analysis, Starlink has recorded record speeds in the US. In many states, the average download speed exceeds 100 Mbps, while latency (ping) remains below 40 ms. These metrics allow it to compete with traditional cable internet.

Experts predict that the satellite internet market will continue to grow rapidly. It is estimated that the number of Starlink users could exceed 100 million in two years and 200 million in four years.
