The Discord platform has launched its new "Nitro Rewards" program for Nitro subscribers. As part of this update, users can access offers from various gaming and lifestyle brands at no extra cost. Currently, a Nitro subscription offers features such as profile customization, HD streaming, and file uploads up to 500 MB. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
In the first phase of the program, Nitro subscribers will gain access to the base tier of Xbox Game Pass. This allows them to play over 50 games, including Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, and Day Z, as well as access 10 hours of cloud gaming. Additionally, discounts ranging from 15% to 30% are offered on gaming gear from brands like Logitech G, SteelSeries, and KontrolFreak.
Discord co-founder and CTO Stanislav Vishnevskiy noted that Nitro is a primary revenue source for the company, and this update aims to increase value for subscribers and retain them on the platform. Today, Discord has over 90 million daily active users and has evolved from a simple chat for gamers into a central platform for various communities.
As the platform expands its audience, it is also paying serious attention to safety issues. Amidst lawsuits regarding child safety and online security concerns, the company is working on strengthening age verification measures.
