The main part of those who moved abroad from Uzbekistan in 2024 went to Kazakhstan (8,792 people) and Russia (1,601 people). At the same time, the share of those who left the country fell to South Korea (96 people), Kyrgyzstan (73 people), Turkmenistan (39 people) and other countries (241 people).
For comparison, in 2023, the number of Uzbeks who moved abroad for permanent residence was significantly higher than in the previous year (17,336 people). In particular, 14,051 people moved to Kazakhstan itself, and 2,670 people to Russia.
15 years ago, that is, in 2010, 44,420 people from Uzbekistan moved abroad, in 2011 - 50,816 people, in 2012 - 45,447 people. Since 2015, the trend of emigration has begun to decline significantly (31,765 people moved).

In 2024, the number of people who moved to Uzbekistan from foreign countries for permanent residence amounted to 2,229 people. Of these, 813 were from Russia, 539 from Kazakhstan. At the same time, 241 people from Tajikistan and 153 from Kyrgyzstan moved to the country for permanent residence.
