Baby born on board Uzbekistan Airways

An extraordinary and rare event took place today, July 19, on Uzbekistan Airways flight HY282 on the Istanbul–Tashkent route. During the flight, one of the passengers went into labor, and due to the emergency situation, the aircraft landed at Urgench airport, reported kukdala.uz.

According to the official statement by Uzbekistan Airways, labor began prematurely, and thanks to the presence of two doctors on board, everything ended well. These doctors — Dilbar Sheripbaeva and Dilshod Nortojiyev — quickly and selflessly provided medical assistance to the woman.

The crew members also acted with great responsibility in this unexpected situation, mobilizing all their strength and resources. The aircraft commander Mikhail Ajgirevich, co-pilot Eler Khoshimov, and the entire cabin crew — Lyudmila Li, Alina Ibragimova, Diana Dyu, Intizor Yusupova, Shukhrat Ernazarov, Fozil Zukhurov, Feruza Rajarova, and Shahzoda Nurullaeva — all worked in full coordination.

In Urgench, medical staff met the mother and the newborn boy. They were immediately transferred to a local clinic. It is reported that their condition is currently stable.

The airline responded to the incident by congratulating the family on the birth of their child and expressing gratitude to all staff members who conscientiously fulfilled their duties during the flight, especially the doctors.

“May the path of life that began among the clouds be as light and bright as a flight!” — said the airline in its press release. This incident is seen not only as sincere and touching but also as a reflection of humanity.

It should be noted that this is not the first such case in the history of Uzbekistan Airways. In January of this year, a baby was also born on a flight from Tashkent to New York, and at that time the plane made an emergency landing in Iceland.
