
On July 16, the press service of the Khodjeyli district administration in Karakalpakstan announced the closure of all preschools from July 16 to 18 due to temperatures exceeding 40°C, reported UPL.uz. Preschools in Takhiatash and Karauzyak districts have also been temporarily shut down.
From July 17 to 19, a strong heatwave is expected across Uzbekistan. Between July 18 and 20, air temperatures are forecast to rise to 40–43°C, and up to 44–45°C in the southern and desert regions.
