
Special classes on artificial intelligence (AI) will now be introduced in the upper grades, which will create new opportunities for gifted students and conditions for future professional development. This was announced on September 9 at a video-selector meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, dedicated to the implementation of reforms in the field of education and future priorities.
It was reported that from 2024, information technology classes will be introduced for 1st grades, and from the next academic year, special classes on artificial intelligence will be introduced in upper grades. This step is intended for young people to master modern technologies and develop the ability to solve complex problems.
For this program, it is necessary to equip 2,000 classrooms in the country with computers and install 6,300 interactive whiteboards. According to the instructions of the head of state, the necessary funds for these needs are planned to be transferred to the state budget next year.
To create maximum conditions for gifted and talented students, branches of the Al-Khwarizmi School specializing in information technology, the Mirzo Ulugbek School specializing in engineering, and the Ibn Sina School specializing in natural sciences will be established in the regions. These schools will be assigned to the relevant technical universities in the region by name, and successful graduates will be automatically admitted to their 2nd year.
Also, in 2026, international chemistry and computer science olympiads among schoolchildren will be held in Uzbekistan for the first time within the framework of the countries of Central Asia. The Prime Minister was instructed to organize these Olympiads in the capital at a high level and to keep all organizational processes under control.
It should be recalled that since the beginning of this year, students of Uzbekistan have won 195 medals at international subject Olympiads, and a total of 10 billion soums were allocated to them according to the established rate, and 3.5 billion soums were allocated to coaches and teachers.
