According to the information from Uzgidromet, mainly dry weather without precipitation is expected in Uzbekistan on March 12, and daytime temperatures will gradually begin to rise. At the same time, cold weather will still be felt during the night and early morning hours, and fog may appear in some places.
In Tashkent city, the weather will be variable and no precipitation is expected. At night the temperature will be 3–5 degrees below zero, while during the day it will reach 6–8 degrees above zero. Fog may appear especially in the morning, therefore drivers are advised to be careful.
In Karakalpakstan and Khorezm, the sky will be clearer, but the cold will remain quite strong. At night temperatures will be 3–8 degrees below zero, while during the day it will be 3–8 degrees above zero. On the Ustyurt plateau, the weather will be even colder: at night 10–12 degrees below zero, and during the day from 4 degrees below zero to 1 degree above zero.
In Bukhara and Navoi regions, no precipitation is expected, although fog may appear in some places. At night temperatures will be 3–8 degrees below zero, while during the day it will reach 4–9 degrees above zero. In the desert areas of Navoi region, temperatures at night may remain at 5–10 degrees below zero.
In Tashkent region, Syrdarya, Jizzakh and Samarkand, the day will also pass without precipitation. At night temperatures will be 0–5 degrees below zero, while during the day it will be 3–8 degrees above zero. In Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya, the breath of spring will be felt more strongly: daytime temperatures will reach 8–13 degrees above zero. In Andijan, Namangan and Fergana, precipitation is not expected either, but foggy mornings are possible.
In foothill and mountainous areas, the situation should be taken more seriously. No precipitation is expected there, but the risk of fog, mudflows and snow avalanches remains. At night the temperature may drop to 10–15 degrees below zero.
On March 12, the weather in Uzbekistan will become slightly milder, but the morning cold will not retreat yet. Spring is knocking at the door, but winter still seems to say: “I have not left yet.”
