Female students will be given a second chance to obtain higher education

In order to create a “second chance” for obtaining higher education for pregnant female students or students engaged in raising a child up to the age of three, a number of benefits are planned to be introduced starting from the 2026/2027 academic year.
Accordingly, persons who have remained in the same course or have been expelled from the ranks of students will, as an exception, be given the opportunity to continue their studies on the condition that they re-master the difference in subjects.
Students will also be given additional time to independently master the difference in subjects and other necessary conditions will be created for this.
In addition, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation must submit a number of proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers within three months.
In particular, it is proposed to create the opportunity for pregnant female students or students raising a child up to the age of three to continue their studies in the form of distance education during the period of academic leave if they wish.
At the same time, it is planned to create additional conditions for this category of students to continue their education by increasing educational programs and admission quotas in distance education.
Another important aspect is the maintenance of separate statistical data on pregnant female students or students raising a child up to the age of three who have taken academic leave, remained in the same course or have been expelled from the ranks of students.
