Acid rain is observed in Iran

Reports have emerged that acid rain has begun to fall in some parts of the country following strikes on oil depots in Iran. Experts suggest that this situation may be related to harmful substances released into the atmosphere.

This information was confirmed by the Iranian Red Crescent Society. According to representatives of the organization, explosions occurring at oil or fuel storage facilities cause the release of large quantities of toxic chemical compounds into the air. This can subsequently lead to acid precipitation.

Experts explain that as a result of such attacks, substances such as combustion products - sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides - are released into the atmosphere in large quantities. These chemical elements react with moisture in the air to form weak solutions of sulfuric and nitric acids.

As a result, when these substances fall to the surface with precipitation, acid rain forms. Such precipitation can pose a certain danger to nature and human health.

Experts emphasize that acid rain can negatively impact plant growth and damage buildings and infrastructure. It is also possible that it causes itching in human skin and affects the respiratory tract.
