
At the UNESCO General Conference held in Samarkand, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, put forward a number of initiatives aimed at developing education, science, culture, and the protection of heritage. The President emphasized the importance of creating equal opportunities for education for every child, including children with special needs.
He proposed creating a UNESCO platform for inclusive education and suggested holding a World Summit on Vocational Education to facilitate experience sharing between countries. The head of state also proposed introducing artificial intelligence into the education system and launching the "Artificial Intelligence – School" project.
An international expert forum is planned to be organized to discuss the ethics of artificial intelligence in museums. To preserve intangible cultural heritage such as traditional dance, music, and crafts, the President proposed declaring November 19 as International Day of Documentary Heritage and establishing the International Digital Heritage Institute.
In addition, an International Congress on Crafts and Folk Art will be held in Bukhara. To support the development of women's leadership, the President proposed establishing the UNESCO Women's Leadership Academy and holding a Global Forum on Women in the fields of education, science, and culture.
President Mirziyoyev put forward the "UNESCO Ecological Capital" initiative, suggesting the encouragement of cities with "green" programs and the organization of an international symposium on the preservation of cultural heritage in the context of climate change. To protect youth from misinformation and manipulation, the President also proposed organizing an International Festival of Children's Cultural Content and developing a Comprehensive Strategy for the development of Media Literacy.
