
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Japan on December 18-20 at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaishi. Within the framework of the visit, the head of state will take part in the first summit of the heads of state of the "Central Asia + Japan" dialogue. This visit is expected to take Uzbek-Japanese relations to a new level.
The program of the visit is very rich. In Tokyo, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will hold a series of meetings and negotiations with the Emperor of Japan Naruhito, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, parliamentary leadership, members of the government, representatives of leading political parties, and rectors of prestigious universities. The main focus of these dialogues will be on issues of further strengthening reliable cooperation between the two states.
The agenda of the meetings includes issues of deepening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan, expanding multifaceted cooperation, and implementing long-term projects. The parties will discuss the possibilities of enriching political, economic, scientific, and cultural ties with new content.
Within the framework of the business program, separate meetings are planned with the heads of major Japanese companies and financial institutions. Issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation, promoting investment projects, and implementing joint initiatives will be discussed in detail. Following the visit, the signing of a package of important documents strengthening bilateral cooperation is expected.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will also participate in the first summit within the framework of the "Central Asia + Japan" dialogue. At this event, such priority areas as the development of a "green economy," sustainable development, transport and logistics connectivity, strengthening regional partnership, and increasing the potential of human capital will be discussed.
Following the summit, the adoption of the Tokyo Declaration is planned, which is expected to serve to raise cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and Japan to a new level.
