In Uzbekistan, a pilot project within the Asl Belgisi system for the digital labeling of mineral fertilizers and plant protection products has been successfully completed. As part of the project, manufacturers such as SWISSAGRO LLC, IFODA AGRO KIMYO HIMOYA LLC, INDORAMA KOKAND FERTILIZERS AND CHEMICALS JSC, SCHELKOVO AGROHIM-UZBEKISTAN JV LLC, and MAXAM-CHIRCHIQ JSC labeled over 5.3 million product units in cooperation.
During the production process, mechanisms were tested for the application of DataMatrix codes, accounting during logistics stages, as well as sales through electronic invoices and online receipts. A total of 19 companies voluntarily joined the system, digitally labeling more than 2.5 million products.
The pilot project was implemented under the leadership of the Agency for Plant Quarantine and Protection under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with assistance from the Tax Committee and the State Customs Committee. This created a foundation for coordinating control and monitoring processes at all stages of product circulation.
The digital labeling of fertilizers and plant protection products provides several significant advantages for both the sector and the state. The results of the project will serve as a foundation for the phased introduction of a mandatory digital labeling system for fertilizers and plant protection products starting on May 1, 2026.
