Uzbekistan to Join ASEAN Treaty of Amity and Cooperation
Member states of ASEAN have approved Uzbekistan’s accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia. This decision was made during the foreign ministers’ meeting held in Kuala Lumpur.

Uzbekistan’s accession to this treaty will enhance its trade, economic, and investment ties with the region. The Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) was signed on February 24, 1976, in Bali.

The document outlines the fundamental principles of cooperation in the region, including strict adherence to laws, the promotion of peace, and the resolution of disputes through reasonable and flexible measures.
