Uzbekistan to attract $1 billion investment for fintech

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has issued a decision to develop the fintech sector in Uzbekistan. The goal is to attract $1 billion in foreign investment for startups operating in this field.

Additionally, a venture fund with an authorized capital of $50 million and an innovation center will be established under the Central Bank. According to the plan, the number of fintech companies will be increased to 200.

Starting from January 1, 2026, up to 50% of the education expenses for participants in the innovation center specializing in fintech, not exceeding $20,000, will be covered. Furthermore, the Central Bank will host major international forums on financial technologies annually, and these events will become a regular occurrence.
