Fergana Region Police Deny Rumors of Unrest in Kokand

The Fergana Region Department of Internal Affairs said reports claiming unrest in the city of Kokand are unfounded. This was reported by kursiv.uz.reports.

According to the police, on the evening of December 31, around midnight, a group of citizens went onto the roadway on Charkhi Street to welcome the New Year and set off fireworks. Law enforcement officers intervened, restored order, and ensured traffic safety.

Those involved in the incident have been identified, and paperwork has been filed for each case. The department also denied rumors that a car had been set on fire.
