A new chapter is beginning in the career of Georgian legionnaire Aleksandr Andronikashvili, one of the newcomers set to strengthen Andijan this season. The player, expected to join team training soon, gave his first interview to the club’s press service and spoke openly about how he arrived at Andijan and what goals he has.
According to Aleksandr, the transfer process moved very quickly and was unexpected even for him. That’s why, when Andijan made an offer, he didn’t hesitate for long—the atmosphere at the club appealed to him right away.
He also recalled winning two trophies with his previous team and described 2025 as a lucky period for him. Now he says he is ready to fight for big goals with Andijan and wants to give everything to benefit the team.
Another interesting detail: for the first time in his career, Andronikashvili will play abroad as a legionnaire. He noted that there had been options before, but he was waiting for the “right time” and the “right team.” He is confident in his decision and believes this choice will work in his favor.
He had heard about Uzbek football before and knew that people in the country truly love the game. As for Andijan, he had also imagined in advance that the fans there live with a special spirit.
When he heard the offer, several factors caught his attention: the coaching staff, the fans’ energy, the training base, and the stadium conditions. It can be said these factors made his decision even faster.
Regarding his squad number, he didn’t set strict conditions, but said he would like to wear number 6. The reason is simple: in previous seasons, he performed well with that number.
He also mentioned that he got in touch with another Georgian player at Andijan, Ashortiya. In his view, advice from a teammate with experience playing in Uzbekistan will help him adapt to the new environment faster.
In short, Andronikashvili is not a player who “ended up” at Andijan by chance. He is coming here with a purpose—and fans can now expect a real answer from him on the pitch.
