Several years ago in Tashkent, a serious scandal erupted after pornographic materials were spread via Telegram. Although some individuals were detained, the problem was not fully resolved: groups and channels distributing such content can still be found in the messenger. This was reported by upl.uzreports.
A UPL correspondent examined how these channels operate and also analyzed the activity of similar Telegram channels in Kazakhstan.
According to observations, porn content is mainly distributed in separate “VIP groups,” and access to them is paid. Organizers openly leave payment details, which can often be “drop” accounts. To keep subscribers interested, they sometimes share part of the content for free in another channel and then direct users to the paid group.
According to the source, everything operates anonymously and identifying them is nearly impossible. Most regrettably, some of the prohibited materials are sent by users themselves.
The same system is used in Kazakhstan, and it is said to have appeared there much earlier. Therefore, according to some assumptions, local channels may have copied the method used by neighboring countries. It is even noted that some networks have separate sections for other countries, including Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The ability to take screenshots of chats is often disabled, and messages are quickly deleted. As for payments, cryptocurrency is requested in many cases.
We remind you that distributing pornographic content is punishable by law in Uzbekistan. If you come across such channels or groups on Telegram, it is recommended to report them—complaints help get them blocked.
