New incentives have been introduced in Uzbekistan to develop the infrastructure for electric vehicles. According to a decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, from January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2028, certain goods will be exempt from customs duties.
The Ministry of Justice reported that these incentives apply to electric vehicles, their components, and charging stations intended for servicing electric cars. This decision aims to promote “green” transport and expand modern infrastructure.
At the same time, the decree also supports the sericulture sector. Spare parts for spinning and weaving equipment used in silk production, mulberry seeds and seedlings, as well as super-elite, elite, and industrial silkworm breeds will also be exempt from customs duties.
In addition, tax incentives are being introduced for enterprises operating in the waste management sector. From 2026 to 2031, companies engaged in the collection, transportation, sorting, and recycling of waste will pay corporate income tax and social tax at a rate of only 1 percent.
To benefit from the tax incentives, at least 90 percent of a company’s income during the reporting period must come from waste management activities, and the monthly wages of all employees must be no less than twice the minimum wage.
