Dust haze and brief rain expected in Tashkent on May 27

On May 27, the weather in Tashkent is expected to be slightly changeable. According to the Uzbekistan Hydrometeorological Service Agency, brief dust haze events may occur before the arrival of humid western air currents in the capital.
The agency reported this based on data from the World Meteorological Organization's regional centers for sand and dust storms in Beijing and Saudi Arabia. Forecasts indicate variable weather throughout the day, with a chance of brief rain and thunderstorms in some areas.
The wind will mainly blow from the west at 3–8 m/s. However, at times it may strengthen to 10–12 m/s, and up to 15 m/s in some areas. It is against the backdrop of these wind gusts that dust haze may rise in parts of the capital.
Experts note that these processes may lead to a short-term increase in dust particles in the ambient air. In particular, a temporary rise in the concentration of PM10 particles is possible. This may significantly affect air quality, but it is expected to be short-lived.
According to the Hydrometeorological Service, the air will gradually clear due to the arrival of humid western air currents and precipitation. Thus, the dust haze will be short-lived, after which the air is expected to soften and clear.
Nevertheless, it is recommended to take precautions during periods of strong wind. Citizens with respiratory diseases, allergies, and cardiovascular issues should pay special attention to their health.
Experts advise against staying outdoors for long periods unless necessary and recommend keeping windows and doors closed at home and work. It is also advisable to use a mask if going outside is necessary.
In such weather conditions, caution is even more important for children, the elderly, and people with chronic illnesses. The burden on the body may increase when dust particles rise. Therefore, simple preventive measures provide necessary protection.
In short, on May 27, Tashkent may experience brief dust haze, strong winds, and localized rain and thunderstorms before the arrival of humid western air currents. The situation will be temporary, but precautions should not be forgotten. A one-day 'dust regime' — close windows, prepare masks, and then the rain will clear the air.
