US President Donald Trump has commented on the possibility of deporting British Prince Harry from the country. This is reported by The New York Post.
Harry's immigration status is the subject of a lawsuit in Washington, with the Heritage Foundation alleging that he may have concealed information about his previous use of banned substances. This should have been an obstacle to obtaining a US visa. However, Trump said that he was not interested in deporting him from the country.
“I'm not going to do that. I'll leave him alone. He has enough problems with his wife (Meghan Markle). It's terrible,” the president said.
Trump also took the opportunity to praise Harry's brother, Prince William. He recalled meeting him in December at a private party for the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
"I think William is a wonderful guy," he said.
Harry and his American wife, Meghan Markle, have repeatedly criticized Trump. In one of her statements, Markle called the president a "divisive person" and a "misogynist." Trump responded by describing Harry as "indeed, he doesn't deviate from his wife's path."
"I think poor Harry is being dragged around by a thread," the US president said.
The Heritage Foundation used as evidence the prince's autobiography, in which he admitted to using cocaine, marijuana and psychedelics. In 2024, the foundation sued the US Department of Homeland Security, demanding the disclosure of his visa documents.
“Anyone applying to enter the United States must be truthful in their application, and it is unclear whether that was the case with Prince Harry,” Heritage spokesman Neil Gardner said.
The think tank noted that Harry may have received special attention from former President Joe Biden’s administration after he left the royal family in 2020 and moved to California. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
