The fight for food in Gaza is ending in death - doctors are shocked!
According to medical institutions located in Gaza and international aid organizations, “mass casualty incidents” are occurring daily. Most of them happen as civilians gathered to receive food aid are being targeted.

Doctors and medical staff in Gaza report that they are currently receiving hundreds of wounded individuals every day. All are being brought to hospitals with various serious injuries, especially gunshot wounds to the chest and head. Some are arriving with amputated limbs.

According to Dr. Mohammed Saqr, chief mentor at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, in recent weeks he has witnessed cases where between 100 and 150 injured or dead were received in just half an hour.

“These scenes can be described as ‘Judgment Day scenarios’—it’s no exaggeration. Every day we are seeing mass casualty events. People are risking their lives just to get a box of food,” said Saqr.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) also stated that Gaza is experiencing an unprecedented surge in mass injury events. In their 60-bed field hospital in Rafah, over 2,200 wounded patients have been treated in just one month, and more than 200 people have died.

Seeking aid, facing death
Most of the wounded are children, young men, mothers with children, and the elderly. Almost all say they were simply trying to get aid for their families. British doctor Clare Jeffreys, working at the UK-Med hospital in al-Mawasi, said the number of patients with gunshot wounds has increased since she began her work there.

“One patient said he sustained a serious abdominal injury while picking up a box of food. They describe to us what they have seen with their own eyes. Everything is happening around the aid distribution centers,” Jeffreys said.

Nevertheless, the US- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has denied such incidents. In a statement, they said: “No fatalities or injuries have been reported at any of our distribution centers.”

Meanwhile, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, from May 27 to July 2, 640 people were killed and more than 4,500 were injured. 95% of them were wounded near the so-called “American food distribution centers.”

Healthcare system crippled, doctors among the victims
The medical infrastructure in the Gaza Strip has been almost entirely destroyed. Half of the 36 hospitals are out of service, and the rest are operating only partially. Hospitals lack not only personnel but also basic equipment like imaging machines, scanners, and even surgical lamps.

According to the ICRC, the healthcare system cannot bear this burden. Furthermore, a shortage of fuel needed to power generators poses a risk of a complete medical shutdown.

Doctors at the UK-Med hospital report that essential drugs like painkillers, antibiotics, and anesthetics are running out.

Medical workers also among war victims
According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, more than 1,580 medical personnel have died since the war began. In the last 50 days alone, prominent cardiologist Dr. Marwan al-Sultan, head nurses at the Indonesian and children’s hospitals, leading radiologists, and dozens of young doctors and nurses have lost their lives.
