
A report of a taxi driver assaulting a woman in Tashkent has circulated on social media, UPL.uz reported.
According to the victim, a door-to-door delivery was ordered via a taxi service at her workplace. The driver refused to come to the office and insisted the client come out.
When the woman came down, the driver called her. She was unaware that the order hadn’t been paid and didn’t have cash with her. She offered for the driver to come upstairs to collect the payment. Allegedly, the driver then grabbed her arms, shook her violently, and dislocated her arms while taking the package.
The victim stated that she has filed a police report.
Yandex.Taxi’s press service told UPL they are aware of the situation, the driver has been suspended, and internal investigations are underway. The company emphasized that aggressive behavior is unacceptable and expressed readiness to cooperate with law enforcement. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
