Botir Qodirov fined 132 million UZS for copyright breach
Singer Botir Qodirov has been ordered to pay a total of 132 million UZS in compensation and moral damages to poet Shamsiddin Sadoiy for copyright infringement, reported the Intellectual Property Protection Department of the Ministry of Justice, according to Nova24.uz.

In June 2025, poet Shamsiddin Turaev filed a lawsuit in the Uchtepa Interdistrict Civil Court demanding the cessation of copyright violations and payment of compensation and moral damages.

As per the court decision, Qodirov must pay:

. 112.5 million UZS as compensation (equivalent to 300 BRV)
. 20 million UZS as moral damages

Furthermore, Qodirov is prohibited from performing and distributing the songs written by Turaev, including “Davlating borida”, “Omonat”, and “Tingla do‘stim”. This ban applies to broadcasting, social media, television, radio, and all other formats.
