US to Offer Visa Benefits for 2026 World Cup

Priority visas will be issued for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the US
US President Donald Trump has announced that the country’s embassies will grant visa priority to those holding tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. According to the BBC, the new FIFA Pass system will allow fans to access visa interviews more quickly.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio clarified that holding a ticket does not automatically grant a visa but ensures an opportunity for an interview within six to eight weeks after submitting an application. "With this FIFA Pass, we can provide the best conditions, including a streamlined visa process, for those who have purchased tickets and are genuine football fans," said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

The BBC added that it remains unclear how the new rules will be applied to citizens of countries currently banned from entering the US, including Iran, which has qualified for the World Cup. In previous tournaments (Russia and Qatar), match tickets served as a substitute for a visa.
