Galaxy S26 Ultra is preparing iPhone-equivalent camera mode

According to rumors from insiders regarding Samsung's next flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the company intends to "test" the new 24-megapixel mode on the camera. This format is the "golden mean" between the lightfastness of 12 MP and the detail of 50/200 MP, which can produce more natural, clearer, and more balanced frames. It is said that Apple also actively used this method as a standard image on iPhones.

But there's an important aspect: according to some sources, even if the 24-MP mode appears directly as a "normal" button in the camera app, it might not be automatically enabled (default). That is, you may need additional Samsung settings like Camera Assistant (via Good Lock) to obtain it. So, the claims that "24 MP works without doing anything" are not yet 100% confirmed.

Technically, however, no big changes are expected: it's being written that the S26 Ultra will still retain 200 MP main sensor and 50 MP ultra-wide and powerful zoom modules. However, rather than "iron," the processing using this iron (ISP/algorithm) will decide: 24 MP mode could be a step towards more effectively "unlocking" these powerful sensors in real life - less noise, clearer color, better control in evening photos.

In short, if Samsung truly improves the 24 MP as a mass mode, it could become a "true competitor" to the iPhone in the mobile photography front. But for now, this is insider dаta: the official presentation (expected to be around the beginning of 2026) will clarify everything.
