
The Japanese government has advised its citizens in China to adhere to safety measures and avoid crowded areas. This warning was issued following Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's statement suggesting that a potential Chinese attack on Taiwan could threaten Japan’s security and may result in a military response.
This statement has caused a serious diplomatic crisis between Tokyo and Beijing. China has demanded that Takaichi retract her remarks, but the Japanese government has maintained its stance, emphasizing that the Taiwan issue should be resolved peacefully.
Amid the tensions, China has announced that it is advising its citizens against traveling to Japan. In response, travel companies have started canceling flights and issuing ticket refunds.
The screening of Japanese films in China has also been halted. This situation has dealt a significant blow to Japan’s tourism and business sectors, as Chinese tourists account for nearly a quarter of the country’s total visitors.
