Wildberries' subsidiary in Uzbekistan, WB Int Export, has registered WB Taxi in the country, according to Kursiv Uzbekistan.
WB Taxi was registered in mid-June this year. According to the Unified State Register of Enterprises data, the company plans to provide taxi services.
The company’s charter capital is 500,000 soums. The majority share (99%) belongs to WB Int Export, while the remaining 1% is owned by RVB LLC, a joint venture established as a result of the merger between Wildberries and the outdoor advertising operator Russ Outdoor.
Kursiv Uzbekistan has sent an inquiry to the company to obtain additional information. Test operations for a taxi service under this name are currently being conducted in Belarus.
Mobile applications related to the service are already available for download in that country. In October this year, there were reports indicating that Wildberries intended to enter the passenger transportation market in Moscow.
Rumors also suggest that the company is planning to acquire Sitimobil. Earlier, Anatoly Smorgonskiy, the former head of Russia-based aggregators Gett and Bibi, joined the Wildberries team.
He has been appointed to manage the WB Taxi division.
