Singer Abdulla Kurbanov recalled an interesting and somewhat unexpected incident that occurred at a wedding with his mentor, artist Muhriddin Kholiqov, on the "24/7 podcast" program.
The artist said that on one occasion, when he went to a wedding with his mentor, the money given to them was handed over to Abdulla. He states that while he was organizing the money, he encountered an unexpected situation.
According to him, the incident unfolded as follows:
"One day, Muhriddin aka and I went to a wedding. He gave me the money, and I held it. Then he said, 'Abdulla, arrange the money.' As I was arranging it, a $20 bill, inserted by someone, fell out. At that moment, my mentor was a bit startled. 'Get rid of this money, go get rid of this trouble,' he said. When I asked, 'Why, Muhriddin aka?' he replied, 'We'll get arrested.' Then I jokingly said, 'Someone must have slipped it in, take it, you can use it when you go abroad.' But he insisted, 'No, let the money remain from where it came.'"
Recalling this incident, Abdulla Kurbanov emphasized that his mentor's caution and life views left a great impression on him.
The artist also touched upon his creative career of over 40 years, stating that popularity and genuine recognition among the people are not always measured by numbers:
"I have been serving the people for 40 years. I have seen 40,000 different singers. But among them, there are only a handful of artists whom the people truly love and cherish from the bottom of their hearts. Many are famous, but not everyone is fortunate enough to be beloved," he concluded.
