Interest in emigrating from Russia spikes
There has been a notable surge in online searches from Russia about relocating to other countries, with interest rising sharply in recent months. In particular, searches related to moving to Belarus have increased significantly, reaching over 20,000 queries in recent weeks. While many users are still in the research phase rather than committing to immediate relocation, the trend reflects growing caution and a comparative evaluation of opportunities abroad.
According to the "Vedomosti" publication, the number of internet searches related to relocating from Russia to other countries has significantly increased in recent months. This trend is clearly reflected in the statistics of the "Yandex Wordstat" service.
Data shows that while 19,600 queries on this topic were recorded in January, this figure reached 22,900 by February. In March, interest intensified further, with up to 40,000 queries observed.
At the same time, analysis of more specific and refined searches reveals a different picture. It indicates that many users are not rushing to fundamentally change their lives; that is, it is not a mass "exodus" but rather a research phase that dominates.
However, an interesting aspect is that recently, Russian citizens have begun to pay more attention to neighboring Belarus. Searches for information about relocating there have increased sharply.
