According to our weekly analysis of exchange rates published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during the first working week of September 2025, the US dollar depreciated by 45.23 soums against the national currency — the soum.
Weekly dynamics
The dollar-to-soum exchange rate experienced certain fluctuations during the week. In particular, a decline was observed in the first half of the week:
Monday: - (not published)
Tuesday: -21.68 soums
Wednesday: -37.80 soums
The decline on these days may be related to dynamics in international markets, import-export operations, and changes in domestic demand.
In the second half of the week, however, an increase was recorded:
Thursday: -48.36 soums
Friday: +62.60 soums
As a result, the overall weekly change of 1 US dollar was positive for the national currency, ending with a decrease of 45.23 soums.
The Central Bank strives to form exchange rates based on market mechanisms and to maintain stability in economic processes. Such changes in the exchange rate are considered an indicator of the global economic environment, foreign trade volume, and the level of domestic economic activity.
