Ease for Business: Account Unblocking Procedures Being Simplified

Another important initiative aimed at improving the business environment is being implemented in Uzbekistan. A draft law simplifying the process of unblocking bank accounts in cases related to tax violations has been submitted to the Senate.
The newly proposed rules are aimed at reducing excessive bureaucratic barriers for business, shortening lengthy court proceedings, and preventing financial disruptions. In short, an opportunity for entrepreneurs to "breathe" is emerging.
Simplified mechanism: a rapid solution
From now on, if an entrepreneur acknowledges a tax error and rectifies the deficiencies, tax authorities will be able to independently remove restrictions on the account. Waiting for a separate court decision for this purpose will no longer be required.
This change is of significant importance for businesses in saving time and funds. Previously, such processes could drag on for weeks or even months.
Guarantee of protection in case of dispute
If an entrepreneur disagrees with the decision of the tax authorities, their accounts can only be frozen by a decision of the Economic Court. This serves as an important legal guarantee in protecting business interests.
In other words, in any disputed situation, the entrepreneur will have the opportunity to defend their position.
Efficiency and continuity
The main goal of the reform is to ensure the continuity of business processes. Accounts remaining blocked for a long time could cause serious damage to entrepreneurial activity.
The new procedure will serve to promptly eliminate tax debts and ensure that the work activities of entrepreneurs do not come to a standstill.
Final conclusion
In practice, these changes are akin to transitioning to a "stress-free mode" for business:
— excessive court running will be reduced;
— financial turnover will be restored quickly;
— work processes will continue uninterrupted.
In short, the state is easing conditions for entrepreneurs. Now the question is—how will this reform work in practice? Time will tell, but the direction is correct.
