Housing sales in Uzbekistan increased by 47 percent in March

The Center for Economic Research and Reforms has released a review of Uzbekistan's real estate market for March 2026. According to the data, housing sales in the country grew at a sharp pace, with the number of registered transactions reaching 43.6 thousand. This figure is 47 percent higher compared to February and more than double compared to the same period last year. Uzdaily.uz reports on this.
Experts attribute this growth to the transition to a settlement system via escrow accounts, which came into force in April. Ahead of the introduction of the new mechanism, buyers and sellers sought to accelerate transactions. By region, the highest growth rates were recorded in Jizzakh (73.2 percent), Sirdaryo (64.6 percent), and Namangan (63 percent) regions. In the city of Tashkent, sales volume increased by 44 percent, totaling 12.8 thousand transactions.
Prices in the secondary market continue to grow steadily. Across the republic, prices rose by 0.4 percent in one month and by 10 percent over the year. Price growth was highest in the Sirdaryo and Samarqand regions at 22 and 18.7 percent, respectively. In the capital's secondary market, annual growth amounted to 5 percent, with prices remaining high in the Mirobod, Mirzo Ulug'bek, and Chilonzor districts.
The rental market has also become more active. In Tashkent, rental prices increased by 2.7 percent in one month, reaching an average of 8.9 dollars per square meter. In central districts, rental rates rose up to 11 dollars. In the newly built housing segment, the average price was observed to have increased by 8.8 percent compared to last year.
