Business Climate Index in Uzbekistan Rises by 13 Points

The overall business climate index of Uzbekistan for October of the current year reached 55 points. According to the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CEIR), this represents an increase of 13 points compared to the previous year.

"Improvements in the business climate were recorded in all sectors. Specifically, the agricultural sector saw an 11-point increase compared to last year, reaching 61 points.

In the industrial sector, the index rose by 8 points to 46 points. Meanwhile, the construction and services sectors experienced growth of 13 and 17 points, respectively, bringing their indexes to 58 and 57 points," the center reported.

Among the entrepreneurs surveyed by the center, 50 percent rated their current business condition as good. Last year, this figure was 38 percent.

Over the past three months, 42 percent of companies noted improvements in business conditions, compared to 32 percent who gave the same response last year. Furthermore, 50 percent of survey participants indicated an increase in interest in their products, up from 35 percent the previous year.

CEIR calculates the Business Climate Index using the methodology of Germany's IFO Institute. This is done through surveys involving more than 1,000 companies across various sectors. Business representatives assess the current situation and future expectations based on changes in production, demand, and other indicators.
