In recent days, a video showing young men using narcotic substances has been widely circulated on social media, sparking serious public discussions. This situation has drawn the attention not only of citizens but also of law enforcement agencies.
According to official information, on July 2, 2025, officers of the Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs identified individuals using narcotic substances in one of the mahallas of the Yashnobod district. Their identities were quickly established — A.F., born in 1998; O.Sh., born in 2005; M.I., born in 2006; and M.U., born in 2006.
Since the incident occurred in a public place, its social danger has increased even more. Among the residents of the mahalla, this incident raised serious concern about the potential for similar situations to recur, threats to the future of youth, and signs of gaps in upbringing and lack of supervision.
Law enforcement agencies have initiated a pre-investigation check on this matter. It is reported that the investigation is examining all details related to the individuals in the video, the origin of the substance, and the reasons for its use. It is also being analyzed whether the offenders had prior connections to drugs or if this was their first time.
The responsible authorities emphasize that strict measures will be taken in accordance with the law regarding this case. The offenders will be held accountable under the Criminal Code and the Administrative Liability Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This is being done not only as punishment but also as a warning to others.
Most unfortunate is that some of the individuals involved in this case are underage — that is, under 18 years old. This increases the responsibility of educational institutions, parents, and the mahalla system. Every child is considered the future of society, and their behavior today shapes their destiny tomorrow.
In addition, psychologists and sociologists emphasize that combating such social issues among youth requires not only punishment but also approaches based on awareness, trust, and dialogue. Every segment of society — parents, teachers, mahalla representatives, journalists, and bloggers — must recognize their responsibility in this process.
Drug addiction is not just a personal problem, but a threat to the entire community. It can destroy not only health but also the future, the family, and a person’s place in society. Therefore, a strict and systematic preventive approach is necessary in such situations.
According to Zamin.uz analysts, the emotional climate in each mahalla, organizing meaningful leisure time for youth, expanding sports and cultural clubs, and increasing civic engagement are considered effective tools in combating this problem.
For every family and mahalla to remain free from such tragedies, unity, responsibility, and a psychologically healthy environment must be established. While the state is taking action, the activity of the citizens themselves is of decisive importance.
