An unpleasant incident that attracted public attention occurred in Tashkent region. In the city of Yangiyul, a case of cruel treatment of an animal was recorded. This was reported by law enforcement authorities.
A video circulating on social media shows a driver of a “Matiz” car running over a dog lying on the roadside without making any attempt to stop or avoid it. The footage clearly shows that the driver made no effort to prevent the collision. This case has sparked strong outrage among many citizens.
Law enforcement bodies carried out an investigation regarding the incident. It was established that the driver was citizen S.M., born in 1970. He was held accountable under Article 111 of the Administrative Liability Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and a penalty was imposed on him according to the law.
At the same time, official reports emphasize that if such acts of cruelty towards animals are repeated, they will be considered under Article 202(1) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. According to the law, such serious offenses may result in a fine of up to 50 times the base calculation unit or imprisonment of up to six months.
