“Bayad” breed sheep brought from Mongolia to Uzbekistan

The first flight with a “live” cargo from Mongolia to Navoi International Airport was carried out — one thousand heads of “Bayad” breed sheep were delivered to Uzbekistan, reported Uzbekistan Airports.

This is the first batch within the framework of a bilateral agreement at the level of heads of state between Uzbekistan and Mongolia in the field of animal husbandry.

The flight was operated by the Kyrgyz cargo airline “KAP KG”. The total weight of the delivered cargo amounted to 37 tons.

According to the plan, by the end of October, 60 flights will be carried out, delivering 50 thousand heads of small livestock. To reach the total figure of 100 thousand heads by the end of the year, similar cargo transportation is planned for November and December.

The supply contract was signed in June this year during the meeting of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh. In the long-term perspective, by 2029, it is planned to increase the number of sheep and goats of this breed in Uzbekistan to 1 million heads.

On the return route, it is planned to deliver Uzbek fruits and vegetables to Mongolia in 123 air cargo flights. All flights will be carried out through Navoi International Airport.

The airport, in turn, provides technical support for the project, including logistics coordination and the provision of qualified specialists to carry out all necessary procedures on site.
